ADLM 2024 Event Recap
August 2, 2024
ADLM 2024 was really great. It’s always exciting to see the automation innovations, from the large vendors ((Siemens, Sysmex America, Inc., Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Roche, BD, Abbott, Thermo Fisher Scientific, etc.), to the important smaller automation vendors like Hamilton Medical and Tecan, to the LIMS vendors and everyone else – we’re still digesting everything we saw.
There was also an important session concerning the new FDA final rule about LDTs that many LEAP Consulting Group clients are talking about. We’ll let the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine describe it in their recap of the convention:
"One highlight of the meeting was a special session where representatives from ADLM, the American Medical Association, and the Children's Hospital Association detailed how the FDA's final rule placing laboratory developed tests under FDA oversight will negatively impact patient care. The session featured a caregiver and patient advocate who shared her perspective on why laboratory developed tests are crucial to timely diagnoses and treatment."
