HHS Finalizes Rule Establishing Disincentives for Healthcare Providers That Have Committed Information Blocking

July 19, 2024

Health Care Providers: Are you ready? The HHS has finalized their rule establishing the following disincentives for health care providers found by the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) to have committed information blocking and referred by OIG to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The rule specifically addresses activities governed by the:
– Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program
– Promoting Interoperability performance category of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)
– Medicare Shared Savings Program.

There is a lot here to digest, and while Leap Consulting Group and our clients and partners have been anticipating this final rule for a while now, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and make sure we’re all in compliance. Is your organization ready? Are there some areas where you could use a little additional guidance? Let’s talk.

You can see the specifics of the rule here.

What do you need handled seamlessly?
